ICLEI Africa is the regional node of the global ICLEI network for African municipalities and sub-national governments. It works with cities across the continent to embed climate resilience, sustainable urban planning, and low-emission development into local governance. African cities face accelerating urbanisation, climate risk, and severely constrained resources simultaneously — ICLEI Africa builds peer networks, tools, and political will for local governments to act collectively. It connects municipal action to national and international climate governance frameworks, including the UNFCCC and the African Union's Agenda 2063.
