Pachamama Alliance
Pachamama Alliance was born in 1995 after American philanthropists were invited by Achuar leaders to help defend the Ecuadorian Amazon from oil extraction. The organisation works at the intersection of indigenous land rights, ecosystem protection, and consciousness change. In Ecuador's Sacred Headwaters region it funds territorial monitoring, legal support, and community livelihoods. Globally, it runs award-winning online courses and Earth Listening Circles to shift the worldview driving ecological destruction. The alliance holds rights of nature as central to its vision and helped seed that legal concept in Ecuador's 2008 constitution.
