Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation (PIRT)

The Garden The Assemblies

The Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation (PIRT) is a collaborative regional platform bringing together Pacific Island governments, national NGOs, and regional conservation organisations to strengthen biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. PIRT facilitates knowledge sharing, capacity building, and policy coordination on topics including invasive species management, protected areas, biodiversity finance, and alignment with global frameworks such as the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The Roundtable supports national governments in developing biodiversity strategies and action plans and connects Pacific voices to international conservation negotiations. Secretariat functions are hosted by IUCN Oceania.
