Pan African Climate Justice Alliance
The Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) is one of the largest civil society coalitions on the continent, bringing together grassroots groups, faith organisations, farmers, pastoralists, and NGOs around a shared demand for climate justice. Founded in 2008 in Johannesburg, PACJA is the principal African voice in international climate negotiations, insisting that communities least responsible for emissions must not bear the cost of adaptation. Its campaigns press both African governments and wealthy nations on finance, loss and damage, and the right to a just transition.
